An exceptionally detailed mid-century Sōsaku (Creative) Kokeshi doll measuring 13cm in height. This charming piece depicts a traditional Japanese warrior or samurai wearing a white headband (hachimaki) tied neatly around his head.
The doll features vibrant, multi-colored hand painting showcasing a dark blue robe with tied green sash cords (tasuki), striped yellow and black hakama trousers, a family crest (mon) on the sleeve, and a red-sheathed sword (katana) tucked into his belt. The back of the lower skirt features a hand-painted calligraphy signature by the artist.
