Vintage Creative Kokeshi Doll by Kishi Sadao

Standing at 23cm tall, this exquisite doll is depicted holding a large, traditional circular woven straw hat (kasa), a beautifully symbolic nod to traditional Japanese travelers or dancers. The hat is beautifully detailed with hand-painted red and white chrysanthemums, and features elegant Japanese calligraphy painted directly onto the wood grain.

Her head is gracefully tilted in a gentle bow, sporting a highly stylized, elegant topknot hairstyle adorned with a bright crimson hair ornament.
