Omnia’s furoshiki bags are made from reversible Japanese cottons. The navy/red option is a traditional star pattern on the navy side and traditional blossom design on the red side. The Denim/red option is a soft denim blue with fluttering dragonfly and the red side is a traditional dot pattern of the shogun wave.
We have added bamboo handles but these can be untied and removed and you can experiment with your furoshiki learning other tying methods. The large furoshiki is 115cm square and the medium furoshiki is 90cm square and both are completely reversible and machine washable.
Furoshiki is a Japanese custom of using a square piece of cloth to make a bag for carrying wet clothes home from the onsen or public baths. This was its original use. It is now used to create bags to carry all manner of things, including groceries, bread and pastries, books, and bento boxes, as well as to wrap presents instead of the wasteful Western practice of using wrapping paper.
