ELEGANT MIYASHITA HAJIME KOKESHI

This kokeshi has a slender and elegant design. She wears a bright red haori with a yellow tie known as haori himo. A haori is a traditional japanese jacket worn over a kimono. This gorgeous vintage kokeshi doll is hand-painted and has such a sweet expression on her face! This Kokeshi designed by prize-winning kokeshi artist Miyashita Hajime has artist's stamp on the base. The artist started making kokeshi in 1959 and retired in 2006 after his shop burned down. The crown prince Naruhito and princess Masako collected his creative kokeshi dolls. 

Each kokeshi has original kanzashi in their hair, are all in very good condition as these dolls are from the early 1970's.
