HIP HIP DECAY SCULPTURE-AMANKE

Product details

Hip Hip Decay sculpture Amanke is created by the wonderfully talented Ballarat artist Suzanne McRae. Suzanne has imagined and brought to life these amazing ‘one of a kind’ animal sculptures. Her pervious life as a costume designer is evident by her use of beautiful vintage textiles and trims. Materials such as calico, paint, wire, clay and antique spools help bring her quizzical creatures to life and she gives each one a charming name.

The idea of "beautiful things now decrepit" really resonates in Amanke. It feels like these creatures exist in a place that’s both of this world and slightly outside of it—frozen in time, carrying a sense of lost elegance yet holding a quiet charm. That mix of cuteness and creepiness you mentioned earlier really seems to encapsulate the feeling of nostalgia and decay Suzanne is channeling through her work.

This cutey creepy long eared hare is called Amanke and she is 67cms tall on her stand to the tip of her long velvet ears. She has the sweetest face a bow under her chin and pinstripe dress with button detail at the back
