Hip Hip Decay Sculpture Mantilla
Product details
Hip Hip Decay scultpure Mantilla is created by the wonderfully talented Ballarat artist Suzanne McRae. Suzanne has imagined and brought to life these amazing ‘one of a kind’ animal sculptures. Her pervious life as a costume designer is evident by her use of beautiful vintage textiles and trims. Materials such as calico, paint, wire, clay and antique spools help bring her quizzical creatures to life and she gives each one a charming name.
Beautiful things now decrepit, once cherished objects now paused in a parallel place. Suzanne’s animals are the anthropomorphic bridge between human and creature.
This tall kitty is called Mantilla and she stands on an antique spool and base and is 67cm tall. She has a delightful long fur tail coming from under her long smock and she is holding onto her long tail just so no one can tread on it. She has a slightly forlorn look maybe someone did tread on her tail!! See our other fine specimens at Omnia.
